Do not sand the floor with a sanding belt that has lost its abrasion. Even the finest quality sanding belt has a limited durability. From time to time check your belt to make sure that it still sands well. Do not use the 24 grit sanding belts on semi solid wooden floors or on sensitive wood floors.

Karbosan Zirconia Blue Sanding Belts 250 MM x 750 MM – How to use

Select the most appropriate sanding disc for your particular type of project and start sanding the floor. Remember, do not drop the belt fast on the floor to avoid creating holes. Move back slowly as you drop the belt on the finish and lift the drum handle off as you are just about to stop. Always go along with the fibre of the wood (unless you are levelling uneven floors). Go through all the grit to avoid leaving scratches on the wood. Even if the wood looks great now, some imperfections could be very visible after you have sealed the floor with a darker sealer.

Sand with 40, then 60 & finish with 80 grit sanding belts. Do not skip from 40 to 80 grit.
