Karbosan Zirconia Blue Sanding Belts 200 MM x 750 MM – How to use
Our sanding belts start from 40 grit and go up to 120 grit. The roughest grit is usually suitable for removing heavy duty lacquers, sealers, waxes, etc. The finest grit is usually suitable for fine sanding and overcoating sanding. So if you are planning to sand an already sealed wood floor, you should start with a 40 grit sanding belt. Sand the whole floor going along the fibre of the wood. Then go with 60 grit one more time and then with 80 grit. Now you are ready for applying the first coat of sealer.
40 grit sanding belts | rough floor sanding and old sealers removal
60 grit sanding belts | light sanding and surface preparation
80 grit sanding belts | fine sanding and final surface preparation
100 grit sanding belts | very fine sanding for recoating or sanding between the coats
Assess the wood surface and only proceed with the sanding after you are 100% sure that the most appropriate sanding belt was selected. If you are starting the first sanding with a too fine sanding belt, you might have to go over many times before the sealer is removed. You might as well start with a rougher sanding belt and achieve great results in one go.
We are happy to deal with domestic DIY users or professional floor sanding contractors. Our expertise and all our experience is at your disposal. If you are not sure how to do it or what sanding paper is the best, please call us or email us.
