Karbosan 200 mm Sanding Discs – How to use

It is essential that you pick the right sanding discs for your particular type of project. Using a much more aggressive sanding disc than required might cause more problems than benefits. Same thing if you are using finer sanding discs than required.

24 grit sandpaper – very aggressive glue & paint remover

40 grit sandpaper – lacquer, oils & wax remover

60 grit sandpaper – fine sanding only & light polish remover

80 grit sandpaper – fine sanding only (usually used as the final sanding before sealing)

100 grit sandpaper – very fine sanding and surface levelling

120 grit sandpaper – for the finest and lightest sanding projects

***try to move along with the fibre of the wood. Go through all the grits to make sure that the surface is scratch free. If you sand the surface with 40 grit, you cannot just move from 40 to 100 grit, you will need to sand 40, 60, 80 & 100 grit***
