It can also be used to seal all types of wooden surfaces like wood furniture, frames, doors, skirting boards, door saddles, handles, etc. The new Ecostar 2K Commercial Traffic Water Based Floor Lacquer is only suitable for indoor use. Ecostar 2K Commercial Traffic Water Based Floor Lacquer | How To Use

Assessing the surface should be the first step. While the new Ecostar 2K Commercial Traffic Water Based Floor Lacquer is compatible with all oil based wood stains, it is not compatible with standard floor oils or hardwax oils. If the surface looks oiled, then it will require full standing and preparation. Overcoating over pre existing finishes is also possible assuming that the surface is patch free, dry and residue free. If the surface is likely to get stained, please do so about 5 hours before applying the lacquer.

Step 1: Mix up the lacquer with the hardener and do not use the composition for about 15 min

Step 2: Using a varnishing brush, apply a thick and even coat of lacquer around the edges and in all to reach areas

Step 3: Using a varnishing roller, apply a thick but even coat of floor lacquer making sure to cover the whole floor area

Step 4: Allow 2 hours for the surface to dry. Re-sand the whole floor one more time with 150 to 180 grit sandpaper to remove all imperfections and all the dull patches

Step 5: Vacuum the whole floor well a number of times to extract even the finest grain of dust

Step 6: Apply the last coat of floor lacquer moving along with the fiber of the wood. Do not walk on the surface for 2 hours

Ecostar 2K Commercial Traffic Water Based Floor Lacquer | Maintenance

Now that the floor is completed you should consider investing in a proper spray mop and a proper wood floor cleaner. From time to time use a refresher to rebuild the protection on areas with higher use. Do not use bleach or bleach based cleaning products, do not use alkaline or acidic cleaning products and make sure to install leg protection on all movable chairs and furniture.
