The new range of Chimiver Wood Stain 1L transforms white floors into oak floors and dark floors into white floors. Your imagination is the limit. If the trend has changed and your wood floor or wood furniture is colour dated, no problem, it can be stained in whatever colour is fashionable at particular times. A wood stain is also great for equalizing the differences between old and new wood floors, it can create fun colour patterns in kids room, it can enhance the fiber of the wood and it can really transform the look of your entire property.

Chimiver Wood Stain 1L | Where To Use It

The new range of wood stains from Chimiver are not just another range of wood stains. Chimiver wood stains are very natural and realistic colours, very easy to use and have superior coverage area. You can use the new Chimiver Wood Stain 1L to change the colour of all types of wood surfaces, to enrich your floors, to equalize wood colours and to create unique colours. It can be used on all “unsealed” or “new” wood surfaces like hardwood floors, semi solid wood floors, engineered wood floors, wood furniture, wood worktops, wood doors & frames, wood skirting boards and other types of real wood surfaces. It is not compatible with MDF, plywood or any other surfaces that are not manufactured from “real wood”. It can be used to stain indoor and outdoor surfaces subject to selecting the most suitable sealer.

Chimiver Wood Stain 1L | How To Use It

The keyword is unsealed wood. An oil based wood stain has to penetrate the wood in full and it has to be fully absorbed by the wood. Any type of sealant on the wood surface will prevent it from penetrating. Also, a wood stain is just a colour and has no protective qualities. It has to be overcoated with two coats of two pack floor lacquer. We recommend Chimiver Ecostar 2K Floor Lacquer.

Step 1: Remove all pre-existing sealers and make sure that the surface is 100% dry, dust free and residue free

Step 2: Shake the wood stain tin well to create a consistent composition

Step 3: Put some gloves on and soak a cloth into the wood stain can

Step 4: Rub the cloth against the wood fiber moving up and down along the wood fiber and not against it. Allow the wood to absorb whatever amount of wood stain it needs and remove the excess. Move along.

Step 5: 1-3 hours later seal the surface with 2 coats of two pack floor lacquer or with a hardwax oil

The main mistakes that people make are not removing the excess stain from the surface and soaking the wood with stain. Staining 1 sq meter of wood should not take longer than 5-10 seconds. Cloth touches the wood, the cloth is moved up and down the fiber, the wood absorbs the stain, one more go over the area to extract the excess. Job done.

Any cloth used to stain the wood surface has to be soaked in clean water before being disposed of. The friction between the wood and the cloth will generate static energy that can ignite. If you are mixing colours please mix enough wood stain to cover the whole area. Do not touch painted or varnished surfaces. Avoid touching fibers of carpets. Do not walk on the stained surface while wet. Remember to seal the stain. Keep the stain away from children.
