Chimiver ECORAPID | Acrylic Polyurethane Wood Primer | Eco-Friendly
Not all wood primers are eco-friendly. While some wood primers might contain higher levels of polluting agents, others contain less. The new Chimiver ECORAPID | Acrylic Polyurethane Wood Primer is one of the “greenest” wood floor primers money can buy. It enables the user to complete the project without having to use any solvent based finishes. It looks great, it dries fast, it is fume free and it is very easy to apply. One coat of wood primer will reduce the wood absorbency and will enable the user to cover a much larger floor surface with less lacquer. It makes a lot of financial sense.
Chimiver ECORAPID | Acrylic Polyurethane Wood Primer | Where To Use It
If you have real wood floors or any other type of real wood surface, then you can successfully use the new Chimiver ECORAPID | Acrylic Polyurethane Wood Primer. A professional quality water based acrylic-polyurethane wood primer for all wood refinishing projects. It is ready to use and it does not require any dilution. The product has no colour, no odour and it will not release any fumes while being applied or after it has dried. After one coat of primer, the wood surface will feel smoother and it will look imperfection free.
Chimiver ECORAPID | Acrylic Polyurethane Wood Primer | How To Use It
This product is only compatible with real wood surfaces. Its main job is to penetrate the surface and to create a perfect base for further coatings. If there is any type of sealer on it, the wood primer cannot pass it so it will not dry. So the first job is to make sure that the wood surface that requires priming is actually sealant free even if it looks that way. If the wood surface is actually sealed, then the whole surface has to be sanded up until the bare wood is exposed. Sanding the wood surface moving along with the fiber of the wood and not against it is essential. Also, starting with 40 grit sanding paper, then 60, then 80 & finished with 100 grit is very important for the final result.
- Assuming that the wood was sanded and there is no more dust, sealers and other imperfections on it, the user can prepare for priming
- Using a small varnishing brush you should apply the primer around all the narrow corners where the varnishing roller can`t fit. For the larger floor surfaces apply the primer with a varnishing roller
- Apply enough primer for the surface to look wet but not too much to create puddles of floor primer on the floor
- About 1-2 hours later, re-sand the whole surface one more time with 180-220 grit sanding paper to remove all the imperfections, excess lacquer & all the rough patches
- Vacuum well and the surface is ready for lacquering
*** A wood primer is not a final finish. It has to be overcoated with at least 2 coats of water based or solvent based lacquer***
