Chimiver Eco White Primer | How To Use It

Assess the wood surface and start preparing it. Some types of wood surfaces might look “natural”, like there is nothing on it, but in fact it can be sealed with some type of floor oil. To prevent further issues and a messy job, we recommend that you sand all the surfaces before priming it. Start with grit 40 sandpaper, move to 60, move to 80 and do the final sanding with 100 grit sandpaper. Vacuum the surface well a number of times to make sure that even the finest grain of dust has been removed and prepare for priming. Depending on the type of surface that you plan to prime, you can use a small varnishing brush or a varnishing roller. When the project has started, do not stop until it is done. Move along with the fiber of the wood rolling or varnishing slowly. The surface has to look wet but not over soaked. Do not stop in the middle of an area and take a break. The primer will dry pretty fast so you need to have the whole area covered before it dries. Areas that have dried and are then getting over coated, might end up whiter than the rest of the surface. After about 1-2 hours, it can vary, the surface can take the first coat of lacquer. We recommend that you use a matt | natural looking lacquer to maintain the wood as natural looking as possible.

Chimiver Eco White Primer | Recommendations

Buy enough white primer to be able to finish the job. Do not touch any other surface that does not require priming. Do not mix up the primer with other primers. Do not walk on the surface while the surface is drying. Do not apply the next coat of primer or lacquer until the first coat is touch dry. Make sure to seal the primer with a lacquer.
